Khashkhash Chicken (Poppy Seed Chicken)

Khashkhash Chicken or Poppy seed with chicken curry has a unique taste and a good change in routine menu. Try this recipe in your sehar during ramadan days and and except ramadan days as a dinner and share your experience.



Ingredients
  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Poppy seeds 2 tbsp or ¼ cup
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Ghee or oil ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Onion 2
  • Tomatoes 4
  • Green chili 4
  • Green coriander for garnish
Cooking Directions
  1. Soak poppy seeds in water and grind keep a side.
  2. Heat oil, add onion and fry, take out then grind into grinder.
  3. Now fry chicken in to ghee also add ginger garlic paste fry till smell removes and chicken turn golden color.
  4. Now add ground poppy seeds add little water and fry for a while.
  5. Now add turmeric, coriander, red chili, salt, green chilies and chopped tomatoes mix well and fry.
  6. Add 2 cups water cover and cook on lower flame.
  7. Dish out and garnish with chopped green coriander and serve.
  8. Khashkash chicken is ready to serve.
